Dear Listeners,

Forest 20/20 is a new double-sided compilation celebrating 20 years of Forest - Edinburgh's only volunteer-powered grassroots arts space. Featuring a choice selection from the countless artists who have played in Forest over the years, Forest Records brings you two sides of the nostalgic and the new:

In looking back, we have Side A - "PEP" - which comprises 20 retrospective tracks from the last two decades of musical memories. Familiar Forest names make a welcome reappearance - Arctic Circle, Ryan Van Winkle, Sea Is Salt, as well as the return of legendary rock duo The Very - in addition to many other illustrious acts.

Meanwhile, we look forwards on Side B - "TURMOIL" - which offers you 20 new tracks as your closing soundtrack for 2020. Krumins and Crave have reunited in a brand new track ‘CaledoNYa’ created exclusively for this compilation. Joining them are Forest favourites such as Billy Liar, Hailey Beavis, Pockets, and Robin Grey - along with newcomers such as Venn Smyth, Sam Shackleton and NANI - plus many other fresh tunes besides.

Forest 20/20 - much like Forest itself has always been - is an eclectic mix of styles, themes and creativity - from poetry to punk, chiptune to folk tunes - Forest has always had time and space for everyone. We hope you will enjoy the sounds of Forest contained within and find something old that will trigger a memory of good times past and something new to help celebrate the good times still to come.
